Good luck, this should make for a very nice engine
You might want to do something about the rear suspension too however, stiffening the front end only will result in a car that tends to understeer more.
A set of 968 M030 sway bars would do the trick, the rear bar is adjustable, and at it's hardest setting, promotes a bit of oversteer in the 968, would make for a neutral balance in a 931. My 2 cents. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

You have ALL the goodies, sounds great. It's so much better to assemble all the new parts and then a one time big rebuild to the finish product. How long has it taken to get you to get all these parts together?? _________________ I have a 78 n\a currently under restoration. |

I agree, get the M030 rear bar; cheap, high quality, adjustable, factory part, and just what you need! _________________ Vaughan Scott

does that go for the 924S too? I've got the 968 M030 rear sway...I think right now it's either on the softest or the medium setting. _________________ werd B. |

I think that would hold true for the 924S as well, in having a nice neutral balance. The 968 MO30 had a relatively stiff rear end, with the addition of those little helper springs it had on the shock.
Back on topic however, are you using an '80 turbo still? _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

If you're asking me,no i'm not.The PO changed it to an 81.BTW what is a good price for this rear M030? And is it any better than the stock one i've got?(My car has the M471 handling package with oversize swaybars front and rear.)Also how hard is it to install in an 80 931?And will I NEED coil overs because I can't afford another big ticket purchase. All that crap listed above was about my limit and I still have to pay for the machine work to the head and block.($1K) _________________ 1979 Euro 931, Olive

Finding a used set is not that easy, there were only 16,000 968s made, and not too many of them had M471. Usually when one is parted out, the 951 guys jump on it.

Paragon sells the 19mm 3 setting rear bar for $150, and the non adjustable 30mm front bar for $300. These are the same bars as used on the 944 Cup cars as well. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |
