He claims that the steering wheel is mounted straight. But it looks like it is crooked. He holds it straight for the close up of the dash, but in the other two pictures it is slanted.
In this one he said he turned the wheel to get a better shot of the instrument panel. Is it just me or is that the worst angle to see the guages?
Why would he be holding the steering wheel? To keep it level?

Tell you what I can see, unless my eye's are tricking me... he doesn't say there's anything wrong with the odometer on the ebay advert, yet the mileage is the same on two of the pictures you've posted, while the trip mileage in the last photo is LESS than the first one... by 11 miles it would seem.... _________________ Mars Red '78 Euro 924 n/a

I'm not sure I know where you're going with this? What about the mileage and trip meter?

Just wondering why they look to be different between the photo's when he hasn't mentioned any prob's with the clocks...
Hard to tell what the score is with the steering wheel, but I would be wondering why he's got his hand in the way when he's kept clear in every other photo... most odd.... _________________ Mars Red '78 Euro 924 n/a

I had a 91 Topaz I used to racesmash up. Yeah I know, shut up. Anyway that wheel was crooked, it was tilting left. From 12 O'clock to 10 O'clock. This guy is questionable.

Easy. Tell him to take a picture from outside the car with the front wheels and the steering wheel clearly in view.
Then you can see if it is turned off 90 deg. If that is what you are talking about.
Some thing could be bent or the wheel was just not put back on properly some time when it was removed.
My sister had a car come back from the dealer with the wheel on upsidedown. It happens. _________________ 1982 924

Get a 24mm socket and a long extension and the wheel can be removed and replaced correctly. Who cares how it is mounted. It isn't like the engine is sideways. RELAX!

Then your rear toe adjustment bolts weren't (aren't) tightened up. This will make you have to cock the steering wheel to go straight.

Thankfully the car is embedded in a heavily wooded area now.
