|
|
The other day, I was a friends house talkin shop and the timing belt topic came up. I told him about the frequent belt maintenance and he wondered if I could use a timing chain. I just got the car, so I have been into the engine yet, Is that even possible? I didn't think it was, but you never know. I did some research, and I guess either the 924 GT or GTR had something that totally replaced the timing belt problems? Could someone shed their experience on the matter. _________________ Keep a Chevy motor in a Chevy

There was an interesting thread about timing belts and timing chains and gear driven systems earlier this summer. It's good reading: http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=7982 _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |

yes but is the impala an OHC design?, hell you could always design one for us and see if it creates ecsesive wear on the cam or crank bearings and how much aditional noise it makes _________________ 3 928s, |

Here's one....
IF the belt wears in a short amount of time, taring the teeth off from the left side. (standing in front of the car, facing the engine)
What is wrong? Too tight ? Or too loose ? Or ? _________________ Ryan Moone
