I forgot why I don't like living on the west coast, its raining and it won't ever stop raining. I have some general questions, My heat works when it blows to the footwells and windows, but when I switch my center vent from DEF. over to blow through, I get cold air. Im not even sure where to start on this one. I also find side windows and quarter panels get pretty foggy, even with the little side vent pointed at the the door windwos they are hard to see through. Iv heard of RainX treatment and also use rainX for my washer fluid, is there anti fog solution really worth the money? Thanks. Michael.

What year is your car?
Early ones have poor blower power.

Did you check to see if the long door on the bottom of the heater box is closing. This blocks off the lower heat and deflects toward the upper vents.
Sorry if this is obvious and dumb. You will get no heat out of the center vent just above the heater controls. It's is a totaly bogus design.

Its been a couple of years since I last had the dash off, but I would guess that the cable the controls the flapper is not working. Pulling the center console is a fairly easy. Then you will be able to see if all the cables are connected properly to the climate controls. The plastic part where the cable clips on mine was broken.

I have a 77' mine has the dumb design too. Any vent above the heater box will not give you heat (exception of defrost vent). I think when they designed the car they thought the driver will only want cold air on a warm day from those center vents.
You should still get heat from the defrost vents on top of the dash. What I did was to block off all of the air outlets from the airbox, so that the only ones getting the air are the defrost vents and the lower foot wells.
There's no way to change this unless you replace the airbox with a later style. Even then it will be too much of a pain to get that fitted.

What they actually did was tap into the right side exit of the upper airbox (going to the rt. defrost) with a plastic adapter with a little piece of metal in it that is suppose to act as a vane and direct the air flow to the center vent.
One look at it and anyone will realize it would not work.
