If I have 5/16" thick wheel spacers on the front of the car in order to deal with caliper too wheel clearance issues but no spacers on the rear, will this arrangement affect a four wheel alignment specifications and if so, how? _________________ Doodle

It will not affect the alignment settings you wish to obtain, or the measured alignment settings. It's no different than changing to a rim with a different offset.
I'd recommend you add identical spacers for the rear for improved handling, though. _________________ Vaughan Scott

Hey Vaughan Question for you.
Is there a way to adjust the rear side to side? There must be right?
Mine seems to be further to the drivers side than the passenger. The alignment is finally to spec and the drivers side rear still hits the rear quater panel.
So I think I need to shift the entire suspension over maybe ... just slightly.
The entire rear was removed and a 944 suspension is now in place. So maybe I shifted it off a bit but figured the shop would compensate.... but alas... no. $150 later and the alignment is perfect but the tire still hits.

Hey Eric,
i've heard that the driveline is actually shifted slightly toward the driver's side of the car- no kidding. i have no idea if it's true. sounds like what you are experiencing though. I don't think there is much movement possible with the whole torsion assembly side to side to make up for what you're experiencing. You could try loosening up all the mounting bolts and levering it over. are you rear fenders rolled? is that where you're rubbing?

Hmmm. Now that is strange.
Yes that is what is going on. You can see the slightly larger space on the passenger side.
I need to check the ride hight on that side also since the stupid idiot at Sears had no idea what he was doing.
That side did look lower at one point right after he did the work so that might be contributing to the problem.
