Now I have been having this thought? Now if I used a Turbo head. (are all years the same?) Could I use a set of flat top pistons? Seems easier than decking the block and easier to find and cheaper than the elusive euro pistons? Just a thought? Anyone have any thoughts on this? |

this is getting beaten to death...
if you get flat top pistons they will have to be made through JE. then you may as well _do the measurements_ and find out if you need a piston dish or dome. then you order your pistons and bolt everything together without messing with decking the block. why would you just guess on the piston dimensions then pay $700 for them only to find your compression is either too low or too high?

| I'll know next week whether my engine is going to run or not. If not, I will be getting rid of a bunch of stuff. Too much time and money into this thing already.... If it doesn't pan out, I will have a set of Euro pistons for sale. I'll keep you posted. |
