I've just finished an aluminum torque tube for a 944, my question is are the tubes for the 931 and the 944 the same? As far as I can tell, they are. If that's so, then I'll make another tube for my 931. The finished weight on the tube is less than 44lbs. That's a 30%+ reduction in the center of mass of the car. I can do the same with a 924 tube as well. But, I really am curious about the 931/44 tube swap.

Same as 944NA, yes, I'm pretty sure. Same as 951, I'd doubt it.

Even though the 944na and 951 tube carry different part numbers, they will interchange. The only difference seems to be the location of the collision lugs and maybe the number of bearings in the tube. I've found that the 951 tube has four bearings, but have been told that the 944na has only three. I'd like to get that confirmed. I have a 951 and 944na tube in the garage, and from what I can see externally, they are the same except the collision lug.

how much to build one for my 924 showcar. I am on a tight budget but am willing to show offf other peoples talents and promote their products and services in exchange for their sponsorship.

let me know how much and I'll order on the first of the month.
