The car Min got the engine out of had no sunroof, this is the second car I've seen like this, the first was a month ago. Before this I had never seen it or heard of it. Min and I had thought that maybe it was fiberglassed over and sewed up really nice on the interior since the stitches were in all the right places to have covered up a sunroof hole. But after seeing the second one today I am guessing they actually came like this. How many cars were made without sunroofs?

p.s. If the 2 cars are still there when I go back in a week I will get the VIN #'s for the registry. I didn't think of it until we got home, and it's 2 hours away or I'd just run back.

There were a few made without sunroofs, and while I don't know exact numbers I do know that they are generally hard to come by. To answer one of the more common questions about the cars without sunroofs, no they are not measureably stiffer than the cars with sunroofs. Because there is a band of permanent roof around the sunroof, loads on the car's body are transmitted through that and the removal of the middle of the roof has no real effect.

My 82 has no sunroof. Kind of nice because i don't have to mess around with leaking.

No sunroof on mine either (nor did my earlier '77). Both of them are/were euro models, and that could account for it. I don't know for sure, but there may be less demand for a sunroof in the European market. Certainly they exist(ed), but the percentages may be lower, at least in the north and central part of the continent. Min, Melon, you say it was a Euro edition that was stripped...just sorta adds to the theory.

I went to look at a '79 924 a few years ago that had no sunroof. I didn't care for the headliner that they install in the non-sunroof cars. It was a US-spec model. They're around, but pretty rare. I think the huge sunroof is one of the best things about the car.

The 77 I stripped last year had no sunroof. The 2 78s I own now don`t have sunroofs. Cool, I own 2 rare 924s. Seriously, they couldn`t be that rare

Mine was born without a sunroof. But the doctors said she was a healthy baby and that in a "few years she will have a beautiful sunroof just like all the others". I was so pleased when she came out of surgery with a beautiful unique sunroof. It was one of the happiest days of my life. Excuse me I have something in my eye.

My 87 924S has no sunroof. I read someplace that the sunroof was standard and the "sunroof delete" was an option??

My ´87 924 S does not have a sunroof. In Europe the sunroof was an expensive option. Most of the Dutch imported 924 ´s did not have that option. So a 924 without a sunroof is not rare overhere.

my '82 is a LHD european spec car (LHD unusual for Ireland, but otherwise we should have the same spec options as the rest of Europe) and it doesn't have a sunroof. I also briefly had a '79 (I think) a couple of years ago that I scavenged for parts for my bug project at the time that didn't have a sunroof either. Unusually again, it was also LHD. Weird

This is my '82...
