I spent 9 months in one, now I just visit for fun and pleasure.

Whats in a name. Well Toyota's badged MATRIX. The Joke is on those who drive them. If you enjoy driving a "WOMB" thats right a WOMB The primary defintion for MATRIX is Womb. If you saw the movie the matrix. They rescued him from a womb type device. IF you don't belive me.

matrix

1) Apart from information technology, matrix (pronounced MAY-triks) has a number of special meanings. From the Latin word for womb (in turn from mater or mother), a matrix is either the intercellular substance of a tissue, the material in which a fossil is embedded, or a mold from which a relief surface is made in printing or phonograph manufacturing

SO if you own a Matrix sorry, HA HA HA

I spent 9 months in a Matrix now I just visit for fun. AS often as possible, just not the orgina one l where I came from.

So next time you pull up to one (toyota not the other one) Have yourself a good laugh. If you laugh at the owner of the other kinda of matrix they may deny you access.

The car companies spend alot of time and money marketing these cars to younger buyers. One add goes something like "escape pod, life support system, or time capsule?"

Didnt we used to call these things hatchbacks?

Hehehe

What I think is funnier is it's counterpart, the Pontiac Vibe. Exact same car, exact same shape, Threw on some body cladding and voila! A new sport-wagon-hatch-cruiser thing that someone will pick over the Matrix because they don't want "rice." I saw a woman driving her new Vibe on the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour!!! It's insane that those idiots will say things like "Let's keep the youth of America working on small blocks and not driving Hondas!" then proceeding to let this "enthusiast" run an 18 second 1/4 mile in her Vibe (A six speed even!) What a country...

You'd better hope that its not a Toyota Matrix XRS that your laughing at because at 180 horsepower it'll leave you and your daily driver way behind eating it's dust wondering what the hell just happend.

Right up to the point at which the road becomes anything other than straight, at which point the FWD will have that Matrix plowing towards the guardrails and cooking its poor front tires.

Roger, you make a great point about the new nomenclature for cars. Chrysler's new Pacifica, while a fine automobile, is a station wagon. No amount of marketing can change that. Now, personally I like station wagons. I remember ads for the Volvo 760 Turbo Wagon that showed the Volvo outrunning 944's. One of the original sleepers.

My friend used to rock his parents 87 toyota camry station wagon. That thing was cool, we used to go and do donuts in that thing.
