ever since i first got this car 4yrs ago ive had starting problems in the winter, especially when its been (or is) raining. After i got my car back from the mechanics for that overheating problem it had started every morning at the turn of the key for the last mth and a half. Weird thing was tho that at idle it would rev at 1000rpm and slowly climb to 1300rpm.
But at a recent grass gymkhana, another problem occured. Pinking. So i took my car over to another section at work and they pulled out the timing light and i pulled out my haynes book. The book said 10 degrees advance. I had 30! So we adjusted the timing and the idle one after the other until they balanced out against each other.
No more pinking, got a little more power and response ot of it. problem solved? kinda. now my car is a total bitch to start again. Classic example this morning. Im at work but it isnt... again... This has been happening so much its wearing real thin.

Can anyone ease me of my pain??
Cheers
Jae

sounds like the ignition system.

I had problems, and replacing the plug leads helped. Ditto for rotor arm and dizzy cap. points too, if you got them
