| I think most coils are the same , you could even use a $10 chevy coil . |

should work fine in your car, but the 78 924 NA is a resistered engine, if I remember correctly, but then again the resister was to stop it from frying points but these cars don't have points so I don't know _________________ 3 928s, |

The one i am looking at comes with a resistor anyway. And i thought that the points had a resistor in them. At least that is what a few people said in a different thread.
I am not in danger of frying something for using this if it is wrong am i? _________________ 90 944 S2

if in doubt use the external resister _________________ 3 928s,

If your car has mechanical points I will defer to the other answers. If you have electronic ignition coils are very specific to the ignition system. The primary resistance, saturation current, inductance, and other specifications mean the correct coil is necessary.
If a coil is specified IN PRINT to be for a specific application you can be reasonably sure the coil will work. Quality on the other hand is open for interpertation.
I'm currently using an Auto Zone $12.00 coil and have had no problems with it although it is a daily driver not a racer. _________________ '84 944

Yeah, not such a big deal if you've got the right resistance et al... I'm using an MSD Blaster 2 coil in the racecar, though I had to muddle around with resistors... _________________ Vaughan Scott

It comes with a balast resistor (.8ohm) that u can use if you want to. What ohm resistors did you use and how? _________________ 90 944 S2
