|
|
A while back someone posted saying that Porsche was going public with its stock. I have found two Porsche stock listings with huge prices on them... but I am not sure if they are new public stock prices. No info is given other than the prices, no history or anything (MSN).
So... are there two different types of Porsche stock? Two different companies? Please give me any info you have. I am itching to know if there was an IPO that I missed. _________________ "You measure democracy by the freedom it gives it's dissidents, not the freedom it gives it's assimilated conformists." - Abbie Hoffman

Actually, they're all the car company except for the bank which is probably the financing part of the car co. They have a different ticker symbol for each exchange and the major cities in Germany each have their own exchange, so - lots of ticker symbols. "PSEPF.PK" I believe is the symbol for the stock that started trading most recently (Jan '02) and was in the news that Cathy saw a while back. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. There were two stock symbols:
PSEPF - Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Porsche AG - stock at $382.00 (unchanged)
and
PSCHF - PORSCHE AG AKT - stock at $455.52 (unchanged)
No history or description of either stock occurs other than what I just posted.
I am amazed at how much either of these is per share!!! But then again, the company sells $70,000 cars... and I would imagine a bank that financed these vehicles would do pretty well...
Since I am not buying the Barracuda (no surprise there, I guess...), I am considering buying a few shares of Porsche stock (in the auto company, though...). But if either of these symbols is the auto company, I will be buying a hell of a lot less shares than I thought!!!
Can a US citizen buy stock that is traded on the DAX??? Maybe I am looking in the wrong markets??? _________________ "You measure democracy by the freedom it gives it's dissidents, not the freedom it gives it's assimilated conformists." - Abbie Hoffman

Here are the exchanges along with the suffixes they use (according to Yahoo):
http://finance.yahoo.com/sd
PSEPF (suffix ".pk") is a US "pink sheet" stock. That's probably the one you'd be looking for. (".pk" and "PNK" stand for "pink sheet".)
PSCHF is the Porsche Financial Co. (bank). I'm guessing it's similar to GM's "GMAC" which provides financing to purchase the cars. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."
