|
|
Have a 79 NA Manual Tran. The car starts Cold/Hot fine @ 850 RPM +/- after driving around it sporadicaly jumps up to 1500 RPMs at red lights stop signs, I know the 77-79 NA MT had a decel valve aka Vaccum limiter, it sits behind the the intake mainfold with with three vaccum hose I have checked the routing & they are all correct and I also replaced all the vaccum lines, and a through tune up, new t-belt & tens. Has anyone had any experince or knowledge of this issuse before I have to order the part through the local dealer and find out that it was'nt bad or the problem. It also appers to be adjustable anyone with a shop manual or specs on how to adjust it??? _________________ Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. I belive its only polution control. You could just remove it and the car should run fine. _________________ 1981 924 NA

Well I think, that I got the idle to normalize, I took the intake boot off, I cleaned the throttle butterfly's with carb cleaner ( I have done this one time previous, when I was trying to raise it from the dead (just a really long statis for any of you trekkers out there) I checked the aux air with a mirror while I had the boot off. (intake manifold was boiling the run off carb cleaner) Aux air was closed. so that it working. I adjusted the TPS till the butterfly was just closed. Put the intake back on made sure all the worm clamps were snug. Started and and adjusted the Idle up it was Idling @ 4-500rpms so I knew that something had changed no to see what it is like cold. _________________ Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice.
