| my shifter rattle is really annoying....all speeds unless I put keep my hand on it....is it just the nylon bushing that goes under the shift lever or is it something else?....also does anyone know how to keep the shifter boot down....the clips don't seem to grab and it always pops back up?? |

what year of car, it could be a few different things it could be the bushings under the boot inside the car but on the audi tranny it has some bushings on the tranny that could cause it _________________ 3 928s, |

79 924, should have the snailshell tranny could be the bushings under the boot inside the car or it could be the ball type joint on the torque tube _________________ 3 928s, |

Good luck. I think that once you are under there, you'll discover the linkage is about impossible to reach. I couldn't get my hand up in there, much less work with tools up in that abyss. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |

| the '79 that NINEEAGLES has and the '79/'80 931 that CMXXXI has both have the snail shell trany, which is impossible to get to the linkage without dropping the trany and torque tube.......they are nothing like the audi boxes. |

| Where would i get those bushings from? Looking down on my shifter from the drivers seat(left hand drive) it looks like something is very loose to the upper right. Is that a replaceable bushing? I want to replace pretty much all of the bushings. |

in a 78 you would have an audi tranny and for that just get a replacement lever from performance products, look under 84 944 if I remember correctly _________________ 3 928s, |
