FYI,

An easy way to restore that old graying, pitted or corrode valve cover.
I had a local machine shop bead blast my valve cover and a few other corroded parts. It cost me $10 plus a new valve cover gasket. I also did my timing cover I am not sure if I like it or If I will paint it black again any body like the gray cover?

One word of warning if you do this make sure that you use compressed air, and high pressure water to get all of the beads I did this several times just to be on the safe side. You can see the difference on the other with the metal oil fill cap aginst the non cleanned cover.

I guess if some one was real adventurous you could break out the mother Mag polish and spend A few hours and get a polished Aluminum cover(chromed look) When I have no more projects I might try.
