hiya guys..

got my car dyno tuned, and thought others might benefit from the plots, so here they are..

the guy said it was running quite lean, which would explain my troubles with cold starting, and my reliance on the cold start valve to get it going!
it now starts, idles, and runs very nicely. it ran well above 2k RPM before, and this hasn't changed that upper end that much. it never pinged, so that wasn't an issue.

I confirmed that the readout of 163.8BHP is rear wheel, although I am told that individual dynos vary their readings a bit, so there's probably error tolerance.
i'm running stock with 10lb of boost, no intercooler or any mods. I do have a larger capacity coil, but I don't think that'll effect the power readings.

comments and further interpretations are welcome, and I hope these are useful to you guys!

Up to ~130km/h at redline... that's 2nd gear?

The rear-wheel horsepower more than doubles from 3000rpm to 4000rpm... that's exactly what it feels like, huh?! I love that!

Then it whacks on another 10% by 4600rpm!

But the torque starts dropping off noticably after about 5000rpm. Can you feel it running out of puff after that?

I have no idea what gear that is!
the manual shows 2nd gear at 6500RPM being about 105km/h and 3rd at 6500 being about 155km/h!
my tyres might be a little different maybe?

and yeah, the difference between 3000 and 4000rpm is quite lovely.. when i'm driving in traffic and i'm being impatient I tend to change about 3500, where you're just starting to feel it pull. a bit like touching something just to feel that it's still there..

I don't think I notice that the torque is dropping off - my brain is normally still saturated with the thought "we were going slowly before, and now we're going *really* fast!" and then it's time to change and it happens all over again!

ooh, all this talking about it.. I need to play. I think it's time to go to lunch!

it's definitely 3rd gear.. 2nd was redlining just above 100km/h.
in fact, I got just over 100, and there was a loud pop and my little accelerating adventure came to an end with the clutch being engaged and concern being implemented.

the car still runs and still has boost (I didn't push it, but I got more than 5lb) so I guess i'm off to start another new topic!
*sigh*.. I hope it's something simple
