Mine is horrible so thinking easier to replace the entire lid..
Will it fit ?
Any specific details to look for …..like separation of glass frame
Don’t know if I have seen this any pictures or tell tale signs ?
Thanks
Frank

I've used a 924S back window and had a 944 back window on the car when I sold it. Had no trouble as far as fitment. I seem to recall that even the third brake light worked as well.

Be careful about what shocks you put on as too stiff will cause window seperation.

They are all interchangeable. Even the 968 hatch and wing/spoiler can be bolted up.

My 2 cents on the hatch shocks. I could be completely wrong but here it goes.

Too powerful can cause glass separation issues but what I have found it is best that you don't leave your hatch open. Open it do what is needed and close it. Leaving it open allows the shocks to push on the frame unsupported by the posts that latch it into the car. Once closed the latch posts negate any force pushing on the frame. IE it can't move. I have never had a hatch come apart. My 1982 has been in my family since new and it has the more powerful shocks on it for years with no issues. I also have had 10 924,924s,944,968 come and go. None of them had the hatch come apart. I have 5 of them now. (One coming up for sale soon )

I also don't let mind just shoot up to full stop (open). So there is no shock on the frame when I open the hatch. Mine is key operation only though. So 924S and later 944 guys with the switch for the hatch release won't be able to control the speed of the hatch when it opens if you use the switch.

Also always close the hatch with even pressure. If you push on one side and allow a slight twisting motion to happen as you close it... this can cause the same issues to happen to the frame.

Of course, just getting the proper ones for the car is still best idea. But taking care to close the hatch and slowly open it will prolong the life either way.
