This part 944 347 459 05, power steering fluid return line, off of a 924S includes a rubber hose attached to a folded steel length of tubing for cooling purposes. My understanding was s that it is a return line and not pressurized. My rubber tubing is old and hard and either seeping or just not sealing well. Any reason why you couldn't replace it with a generic bit of radiator or power steering hose, keep the steel line part, and clamp the new hose to the old steel line?

It looked like both the feed and return hoses were not sealing very well on the bottom of the power steering reservoir, they were also stretched out around the "bubble" on the hose attachments on the bottom of the reservoir, clamping the clamps tighter did not stop the seeping. I ordered a new return hose, but it was too short. A little frustrated, I decided to cut a half inch off the end of both hoses.

With the half inch snipped off they wouldn't fit over the bubble seal on the reservoir outlets. I suspected that might be a problem and a I had a plan, got the heat gun out, warmed the hoses up just enough to slide over the reservoir outlets, clamped them back on and so far no leaks. If these were pressure hoses would replace them both, but since they are both just feed hoses and sort of leak should be too catastrophic.
