| New guy……first post. Just picked up a 924…trying to get it running…it sat for 25 years….I have no fuel at the injection system manifold… fuel pump seems to be getting electricity while cranking…it makes a click noise but does not run…. I have confirmed that terminal 87 on the starter relay is sending power to the pump….. is there any more testing that can be done on the pump itself before buying a new one……also how to you find a “in tank pump” for less than a thousand dollars…..hokey crap… |

I'm no expert, I'm chasing down electrical gremlins in my car. But with that said...
Have you checked the voltage at the pump....checked the connections for corrosion? Also check the ground for the fuel pump which is in the trunk.
You could disconnect the wiring to the pump and connect it directly to the battery. That would take the car's wiring, relays, fuse and ground points out of the equation.
Many have scrapped the in tank pump and are running a single fuel pump. The in tank pump can be replaced by a fuel strainer from a 944. (928 201 081 04). _________________ 1981 Porsche 931 w/S1 engine & euro g31 transaxle. Water-cooled intercooler |

| I did exactly what you said and found that there were 12 V at the fuel pump hooked the fuel pump directly to a battery and it was seized new one is on the way. I took a hacksaw and cut it in half just to see what was inside and that explained everything looks like black brown honey 25 years of sitting |
