Ok - I can't remember where I read this (Haynes manual or here)....but I removed the air filter box and raised the air sensor unit sensor plate and heard fuel moving thru the system (ignition switch in Run position).

So my natural assumption is that the fuel pump is working and moving gas. I'm getting the initial tach bump when I turn it to start, but then it quits. What makes that plate move at start? Could this be a key to getting it to finally crank?

On the FB site I've seen suggestions on checking fuel pressure, jumping the fuel pump relay, and cleaning injectors. Anything else that I'm missing?

Thanks all.

The plate moves only by the air the motor pumps.

I had the same issue with a friends 911 recently. If I helped it a little by manually raise the plate while he cranked we got the engine running, it would die if I let go.
If you can get a friend to crank over or put a remote crank button you can try to gently lift the plate and see if it fires up.

With the 911 we fixed it by adjusting the mixture screw half a turn or so when we knew the problem.
