Howdy All,
I have some other projects that I want to work on and need to make some room in the garage. Located in North Bergen, NJ. email me at: michael@microsoftinstructor.com for more info.

Here are the details:
1988 Porsche 924S Guards Red on Black. Zero rust. No leaks. Runs perfect. Paint has a beautiful patina. Interior is excellent.

I am the third owner. The first two owners were car collectors and only put 20K miles on it. I put another 5k. The entire car is original except for maintenance items likes tires, brakes, battery, belt etc. It has always been garaged. I have receipts for all of this work:

Rebuilt transmission - shifts nice and tight
Replaced O-rings and recharged AC - it blows ice cold now
Replaced water pump and rollers - an absolute must
Replaced Timing belt - you better do this or you engine will blow up when it breaks
Replaced all hoses - must be done or you will be stuck on a hot day when it blows
Replaced radiator - if you want proper cooling a new rad is the only way to go
Replaced spark plugs, wires and dizzy - this makes the engine run smooth
Replaced battery - car starts on the coldest day now
Replaced air filter - let's the engine breath properly now
Replaced wheel bearings - no road noise at all
New brake pads and rotors on all corners - safety comes first
New tires - car grips like a boss
New shocks on all four corners
New E -code headlights - huge improvement over the original lights
New gas tank and fuel lines - you have to drop the gas tank to change the gas lines- otherwise you will get nasty fumes in the cabin. This step is a must for all old Porsches.
Fixed all exhaust leaks - inspected and soldered up any small spots that needed it
Replaced speedometer cable - no more squeaking noise in the speedo.
New radio with USB + Bluetooth [I have the original radio]
New fabric dash cover [the dash has a few stress lines on the top near the vents] very hard to see
New center horn pad [I have the original]
New black floor-mats with red piping and Porsche lettering.
New master + slave cylinders clutch and brake
Fresh oil and fluids all around

Why did the transmission need to be rebuilt at 25k miles?

Good question! Recently, it was making a whining noise in the back when I drove it, however it was shifting great and the clutch was perfect too. So I took it to my Porsche mechanic, he took it for a drive first and heard the noise. Then he put it on a lift and spun the rear wheels and listened with a stethoscope. Then another mechanic took it for a test drive for a second opinion. He also used the stethoscope.

Verdict: pinion bearing\differential carrier bearing failure

So he dropped the tranny, opened it up and replaced the bearings and gave it a thorough cleanup, a full checkup and replaced anything that might have looked worn. Now the noise is completely gone and it shifts like new. He is a 70 year old man with 40 years working on Porsches under his belt. He is pretty much as good as it gets. I am lucky to have him right down the road from me.

From talking to others, there are very, very few people who can do this job and do it right. So if your transmission/pinion/bearings goes bad, good luck finding this guy in your local neighborhood.

I won't complain if I don't sell, as it is probably the best 924S in the world at this point and I love driving it. It just means that I will have to take longer to raise money for my other interests.

You dont see a 924s with leather very often. You should post the options codes located in the trunk as the car may have some other hidden goodies.

Sold! A very nice woman bought the Porsche for herself as her weekend car. It is in good hands and I know she will enjoy it as much as I did. I am going to move on to my next project - Jaguar E-Type.

Cheers!

Michael O.

Here is my latest actually. I have it on sale on eBay. Not too many artists give the 928 attention...so I figured I would since it is such a cool car.
