Trying to reconstruct vacuum lines after our fire.
Clark's shows an "ejection pump". I'm 90% sure we didn't have that originally, i have one now, in the slew of parts I've been amassing. I'm just trying to figure which hose goes where. The forward end of the idle control valve heads up toward the j boot but is there a metal Y there and if so where does it go and what about this ejection pump? If no pump, then said hose is alone on the J boot?
Am I on the right track?

clarks;

Here's a picture of the venturi. It is oriented exactly how the diagram shows it. The top hose goes to the brake booster. The bottom hose goes to the intake, while the right hose goes to the intake boot (see picture below).

That hose marked "C" is seen connected here, while that hose you have marked "to front jboot bottom" from the ISV connects to the open port.

I hope that helps!

So every variation of the 924s would have this Venturi/ injection pump thing and I should try to put it back in? I don't remember there being two ports on the intake I will want to look at that I know one goes straight to the idle control valve via that sharp little s hose as in the picture

The 1988 models have a different setup. On those, the brake booster plugs into an added port on the intake manifold and there is an electronic valve added to the back of the intake for crankcase venting. It doesn't have the venturi but still has two ports under the boot, just the "C" port is capped off.

IMO its probably easier just to put it back the way it was since the '88 intakes manifolds are different. If you need those parts I have everything you need and if you need pics just left me know... I have two '87 engines apart right now.

I hope that helps!

I'm pretty sure "the way it was" was without the venturi "ejection pump" (whatever the heck that is). I don't remember taking it off. Item D, the "intake pipe" is the intake manifold (?) and there's only one big port there and the idle control was on it via the s hose, no place to connect the pump. I have a line from the oil separator (not shown in diagram) running to the metal 3 way pipe, one end on the J boot, the other heads to the brake booster, they can't both be on the brake booster, there was ONE elbow out of that when we got the car, I now have the second little one with a check valve that goes to the thermo valve and vacuum reservoir.
I'm starting to think I should check this engine, maybe it's not the original.
Which engine numbers should I check and where can I verify that?

I think I'm mixing two systems together and am confusing myself.

More than likely someone might have just removed parts without knowing what they were doing.

This intake port is "D" in your diagram.

The hose that you have labeled "to brake booster" in your picture actually goes to "J" (pictured below).

Yes, I think I'm actually "restoring" this set up as it was not like this before the fire, I notice the PET (illustration 107-05) shows that line both with and without the venturi, a tad confusing. So, following the diagram above and the one in the engine bay which clearly shows the venturi which our car didn't have, I've gone that route.
Thanks for helping to clarify that. We have it all mocked up, need to get some new intake bolts before we get serious, some are a bit stripped and I don't want to put them back into service. Also discovered that I received the wrong air filter, so that's another thing I got wrong from Pelican (could have been user error too, but unlikely). I got one for an earlier 924 it seems.
Also need the hose from air box to belt cover although that's pretty minor.

I think that's the way to go. I believe the venturi help keeps the oily gunk from the crankcase from clogging up the ISV and idle screw when the throttle is shut.

On the '88 models they did away with the venturi and just put a valve in that opens when the throttle is shut. With it deleted, the brake booster hose runs straight to D, so that's what that other hose is in the PET.

Here's the '88 setup for reference.

I hope that helps and if you need a venturi or anything else just let me know!

Oh, and as for the airbox to belt cover hose, there was a service bulletin to remove and cap them. Pelican sells the caps, I capped all the ones on my cars except the '88 since the hose still looked new.

awesome, thanks, I found the info on capping that belt cover hose so I'll just do that. I'll see if I can find them at Pelican. I'm not happy with them at the moment. Wrong air filter. I'm not sure how that snuck into my cart but it should have if you're searching for pure '87 parts. Same thing with power steering belt. I've learned I'll have to verify it's showing me parts for the right year every time.
