Like others, I have a couple studs in the tail light that pulled out. What is the recommended repair? Can you remove the lens from the front to insert another bolt? _________________ 78 924 |

I dont think you can remove the lens...you could but you'd have to destroy it. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

The studs can be fixed, but you will have to remove your taillights if you want to do a proper job. Removing you taillights might break them further, but if you take your time and do not force things you can remove them without any further damage.
Once you have removed it, you can reattach the bolts using an epoxy made to join metal & plastic. |

| Sounds like a good solution. Also don't forget to load up on BYTL or silicone to seal the lights from letting exhaust in. I like bytl like the windshield installers use. |

So epoxy it in then...will it hold ok when tightening the nut? Anything I can do to help strengthen it?
I picked up some round butyl for sealing. _________________ 78 924 |

It will hold, epoxy is extremely strong as long as you mix it correctly.
The nuts only have to be tight enough to ensure you create a waterproof seal using the window caulk (I used 3M Scotch‑Seal 5313 ) So you really do not have to torque down on them they just need to compress the silicone ribbon enough so that the light unit sits flush with the body. You can help them along by pressing on the unit itself taking the stress of the bolts. |
