I have a 1977 924 I have been getting gas in oil so I tore down engine and put in new rings. Cleaned cylinder heads .two weeks later oil pan gasket blew.(full of gas ? pulled head cylinder 1 and 2 full of carbon/ 3 and 4 clean I have never ran across this any thoughts ? Thanks

Sounds like excess fueling on cylinders 1 and 2 caused by either leaking injectors or failed o-rings in the fuel distributor. Next step is to pull all four of the injectors, put them in glass jars, and run the fuel flow diagnostic in Haynes to see what is causing #1 and #2 to overfuel. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
