So I've had throwout bearing noise for a few weeks. No odd symptoms other than the clutch felt a little week, but no odd slipping. Then, yesterday, on the way home, as I put my foot down in 5th gear to go up to highway speed....
*vrrrrrrrREEEOOOOMMmmmm..... VrrrrrrrEOOOOMMMM* and the unmistakable feeling of the clutch letting go and revving up and catching again as I let off the throttle.
What's odd to me is that usually when I've experienced clutch failure with slipping, it's not an immediate thing where it just suddenly starts wildly slipping. Usually it's a little slip here or there, small, and gets worse and worst. Not just starting to let go suddenly.
Anyway.... no biggie, it is what it is, I'll get it replaced.
My question is: What kits do you guys recommend that you've used that you prefer? I see that there are several options available ranging from dual friction clutch setups, to more serious clutch setups, and even the OEM style Sachs. I've honestly had very good luck with Sachs, and the kit is right around $300 from pelican, so I think that's really all I need.
But I figured before I dove into, "Time to buy parts." mode, I'd see what you guys prefer on an old N/A. I'll probably also do motor mounts while I'm doing it because those are starting to feel super sloppy. _________________ - 1977 Porsche 924 2.0 N/A (Trackday Project)

I've been very happy with the durability of the stock Sachs clutch on our racecar... survived many seasons... _________________ Vaughan Scott
