I just finished teardown on my first Porsche engine. It seems to be in great shape inside. Way too many oil leaks so I decided to go thru it. My question is about cleaning engine block and internals. Is there anything I should be careful of when cleaning ?

Thanks for the info. I am still a little unsure on cleaning the cylinders and pistons. Can the coating be harmed by detergents or chemicals such as brake clean?

I have built engines from harleys to 440 mopars. None like this tho, just didn't want to screw anything up. This is a great site. I have spent hours reading all the tech stuff. Thanks to everyone for helping a 1st timer get it right.
