Not sure if anyone has asked this or answer but, I have several ignition control modules that the transistor has gone bad in. Has anyone repairs theirs? If so what is the current replacement number to the transistor? I would love to have a spare or two and the system looks simple enough to repair.

I'd like to second this. They don't look difficult to repair to anyone experienced with a soldering iron. Anyone got a circuit diagram? (I actually suspect mine is misbehaving.)

I've contacted Bosch which told me its proprietary to Porsche. I have my board apart and have been researching all the parts to run them down as most are obsolete. The techs at Bosch also said since this module was obsoleted in 2006 they no longer have build sheets on it. Sounds fishy to me. If anyone has found the main transistor and the Wima capacitors inside please lend a hand

I just bought one. It's a standard VW box. Call Don at EBS in Reno, NV.
Cost $30'ish.

Yes, the little box behind the left headlight, although mine is grey.
I seem to recall some Porsche parts website listing it for $250. Which is why I curious about repairability. But a $30 substitute would also work. Do you have a VW part number?

I will look for the invoice. Like I said though I bought it from Don at EBS in Reno, shoot him an email if you are in a rush.

There is also a company in FL that reburishes them for $90 although I'm not sure if they do a complete rehab or just fix what's broke. They are called ProgRama. They specialize in European auto electronics. But still would like to repair myself once I locate all the internals
