Been a while since I posted...and I am so jazzed, I could not wait. I purchased a train wreck of a 1980 924 a few years ago - the previous owner turned it into a trashy, fiberglass aftermarket track car thing and chopped up the wheel wells. Very (very) long story short - if I had known then what I know now. Well, I love the car and decided that it would be a long term project. I started with the mechanical issues - which were far more extensive than I anticipated - and it runs like a champ now. Next I tackled the wiring, and lucked out to find a great shop with the patience and skill to turn a mess into a well wired car. Most recently, I turned the car over to a brilliant, wizard of a body magician (if you are in the Denver area and need an amazing body shop - let me know)...and just picked it up today. The work was extensive and it looks awesome. Just a few of the things they did: replaced the front wings, front end and basically rebuilt it. Knitted in doner rear panels and rebuilt the wheel wells. Reshaped a hood to fit. Rebuilt and rewired the pop ups from a mess of Frankenstein parts I amassed. Next up is the interior, a new exhaust manifold and paint. I am so excited she is looking 1000 times closer to stock.
