|
|
Hi guys, checked switch cleaned contacts and voltage to passenger power window motor and all okay. Wired direct to motor with spare battery by-passing switch and the motor works up and down!! But intermittent now and it feels warm as though it may be struggling. Just clicking sound at motor. Would the mechanism winding gear need removed and cleaned? Is this easy to do and reinstall correctly?
Thanks. _________________ Robert.

The drivers side window switch is linked to the passenger side window switch. If the drivers side passenger switch has a problem it will affect the passenger side window switch. Either clean up that switch and make it perfect or just replace it as well. Note*** if you take the switch apart to clean it up- Make SURE you put it back together exactly as it was [do not flip the metal contact inside the wrong way] _________________ MOD

Also pay close attention to the connections themselves, especially the grounds.
Bypassing with the booster battery shows that there is resistance and voltage drop in the circuit someplace. Find that and repair it. _________________ Stefan

Hi guys, thanks for your replies. It works now after a number of removals and cleaning. The motor spindle is slightly loose but works perfectly when removed from its mechanism. Was thinking that it jams every now and then, but for now it's okay! The drivers door switch doesn't activate the passenger window at all, I have check power and it's the same arrangement as the passenger switch. Cleaned all the contact tips etc!

Oh forgot to say, when it stops working the volt meter drops a little each time you press the switch as though the motor is getting enough power but is "stuck" or jammed in the gear mechanism! _________________ Robert.
