Hi, This stumping the 924s UK club so reaching out to the world!!
I have recently taken ownership of a 924S with flashing Oil and brake lights and looked forward to the challenge of renovating and returning the car to it's former glory.
In the search for the cause of the flashing lights after replacing the oild pressure switch, I found cut wires next to the Distri cap Wh/Bl and Bl and tracked this down behind the timing case and under the water pump, where it took a turn back under the engine and right at the turn was another couple of cut cables the same colour...trying to ascertain if they should be joined and what they are actually for, in an attemp to cure my flashing lights!
Any ideas?

It sounds like these are the wires you are talking about...
If the white and yellow wire is cut, then the oil light will flash. You will find this wire connected to the oil level sender, just above the oil drain plug.
The Blue wires run to the oil pressure sender.
Also, the most common cause of a flashing brake light is a broken/misadjusted handbrake switch.
I hope this helps!

| Thank you this helps my suspicions, As the engine was replaced I reckon they left a duplicated line of the Bl/wh and bl cable that runs to the oil pressure sender as this is connected and working...I will now look into the Oil Level Sensor and see if I can track that down and trace the wiring. |

After looking at your other thread, it appears you have an early engine swapped in, which doesn't have the oil level sender.
In this situation, you can keep the oil light from flashing by simply grounding the white and yellow wire. If you are having trouble finding it in the engine bay, you can try to locate it under the dash. Look for a black flat connector for the gauges, and you can trace it from there.
I hope that helps! _________________ '84 944 -White, Brown interior

| Yes, that was it, no oil level sensor on the sump but the cable was there for it, so I cut the cable out, and connected it to the earth point just behind the fuse box, so now no flashing lights! |
