What is the correct OEM stereo fitted to the early 924's? Does anybody have a sales brouchure? I have an old school looking Panasonic tape deck with the two large knobs on either side. It looks period correct but I'm not sure. _________________ Love me some toofa' |

I would guess it would be an am/fm or am/fm/8-track. _________________ 78 924 |

I have found only an information about specific stereos used in 924s since February 1981. Those are listed as "Super Arimat digital radio, antenna, three speakers", Panasonic CQ-873 (UK) and similar. For 1983 models, there are specifically named Blaupunkt Monterey SQR22 for US and Blaupunkt Koln SQR22 for ROW (M327).
The information was part of the "924/944/968 Frequently Asked Questions - 924/944/968 Stereo FAQ - The following FAQ was created by Walter Spector, and was last updated 19 March 1999", just to clarify, that I borrowed the information
Personally, I'd look just for a stereo with similar design as found in VW/Audi/Porsche cars from the same year, unless I had an M code stating a specific stereo such as the M327 mentioned before. |

I believe I have my original 1979 one in a box somewhere.
I can dig a bit and try to find it if you want to see pictures of what it looked like. _________________ 1979 924 NA |

Yes please!!! While my current stereo looks period correct when I have the car judged at a PCA event I hope to make sure it passes muster.
I'm looking for some old sales brochures for more intel _________________ Love me some toofa' |
