Hey gang - I love my 1988 924S but the stock headlights just ain't cutting it. I need something brighter. What is the latest and greatest? I would prefer something that I can just drop and and not have to splice wires. Also any suggestion on fog lights?

Rennbay sells a plug and play headlight harness upgrade, then look for Hella euro headlights. Easy peasy.

GE Nighthawk LED's:

Much less power required, better light pattern, more light and will outlive the car.

First, make sure your alternator is charging properly and the headlights are getting enough voltage and amps.
Then, buy new replacement bulbs, i think they are H4.
Until now its a minor investment with the chance to seriously improve the performance.
Then, check that the headlight mirrors are clean and in good condition, and so is the glass.
I've recently done a refresh job like that and I was surprised how bright the headlights became once i got new bulbs, cleaned everything up and fixed the charging issue.

I did the whole relay/H4 thing and found it to be a worthwhile project even though I am not out much at night. Much better light.

If you think about how much you'd pay for e-code housings, bulbs, a proper wiring harness and stronger alternator to drive it all then think about the fact that you'd likely never have to buy another set of lights, it actually works out.

Car folks have spent more money on less ROI without even thinking.

Just my .02 and I'd certainly have a set if I were keeping my 951 or if my 924 used the stock light solution.

US cars stock headlights are sealed beam (cannot replace the bulbs):

Um, yes I know that. The common "upgrade" is to a better set of housings and separate bulbs.

My friend put the GE Nighthawk LED lamps in his 951S. He sent pictures when they were installed and the cut off was excellent. Havent had a chance to see what he thinks of him. Ill try to remember to ask the next time I see him.
