|
|
I am learning the hard way what others have meant when they say "924s have electrical problems". The latest was a bad ground for the ignition control box (this is the one that lives behind the left headlight and provides pulses to the ignition coil).
My bad ground prevented my car from starting the other night and some friends had to double back to pick me up. But whilst checking resistances and voltages Dad and I unscrewed the box and put it back. After which things worked. :-/
The ground strap is a quite small copper ring-lug that sits under one of the mounting screws for the ignition box. Is that how it's normally done? Should I upgrade the lug? Find a better ground?
Thanks!

Yes it is.
There are several ground points on the car; front, rear and one under the dash.
Make sure these are cleaned up and protected with dielectric grease or Vaseline.
