The GTS has a crankcase breather on the valve cover. Does anybody know what Porsche did with the breather on the side of the block ?

Although both cars have the breather outlet in a slightly different location it would seem to me that they are venting the valve cover via an AOS and dumping into the inlet although I cant make out exactly where in the inlet wether its going to the intake air filter box (as on my 1981 931 S2)or what.
That said I would like to know why and how that affects the turbo oil drain vent which goes to the side of the cylinder head in the valve chamber?
Is this a mod which could benefit all 931's?

which white GTS is that in the photo? is it chassis number 001? or 93A0150562? I know it is not 011 because that one had a TMIC.

I can shed some light on this for you.

On my GTS , the crankcase breather has been capped off , as has the lower inlet to the breather 'canister' , as you can just about see in these pictures ( it's not the easiest position to get a decent photo ! )

My car was dry- sumped at the factory , hence no requirement for a breather on the crankcase as the scavenge pump pulls it back into the tank.

However I guess on the non dry sump cars , there would be a hose between these 2 outlets.

Hope this helps
Cheers
Mark
