Okay so I'm begining to wonder if I am using the wrong coolant now. Basically I put in valvoline Xerex (https://valvoline.com/products/consumer-products/antifreeze-radiator-products/antifreeze/40) as it said it was safe with aluminium. But I have since heard that all 'green' coolant should not be used and that there is also a red variant of the xerex? I believe the xerex does have some silicone in it but it is low. Would it be worth changing or is this stuff actually safe? _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 NA |

| The green is fine. If you do change to red "dex-cool", you'll have to completely empty & flush the system. Green & red can't be mixed, it turns to mud. |

yes, plenty of green options of coolant that are aluminum safe...
as long as you read the instructions you're fine...
