I want to show you the car my friend and I bought the other day.
It is not a 924, but in same kind of family
It is a 928 S euro spec. from 1981 with a Gemballa widebody kit fitted and with only 44.xxx km on the clock!! and manuel transmission!

I don't think Gemballa, Strosek, Koenig and similar cars look very nice, but this one looks kinda cool.
Any more pics? _________________ 1984 924 2.0 NA |

I really don't know which bodykit it is, some suggestions? some people say Koenig others Gemballa? I can only find pictures on the internet of 2 other cars with the same bodykit.
All instruments is with red numbers like our 931 is with green numbers - maybe a part og the kit?
I will take some more pictures, need serious cleaning inside - a rat or 2 was living in there so a lot of nuts and other stuff but fortunately all electrics Works, all lights, starter etc!
Tomorrow we get a new fuel pump and will try to start it for the first time in at least 12 years! yesterday we cleaned the tank and fuel lines and lubricated the engine with some oil. |

| DO NOT try to start it until you change the timing belt. That belt is 6 foot long (the longest belt of any production car)and is under a lot of stress to turn both cams and open all those valves ($100 each). You'll have a seriously expensive mess if that belt slips. |

Jason - thank you, we talked about changing the belt, but it looks okay? but now we will change it I think - dont look so difficult - and we will regret it like you say if it slips.
No - sadly it is a set of cookie cutters on it and there is no front seats
But at least the black leather interior(dashboard and doors) looks fine and just need cleaning. |

Change it no matter how it looks, 12 years is too long an interval. Even if the back of the belt looks fine, the teeth could be pulled off the belt. You're going to have to change it at some point anyway. Check the water pump, tensioner, rollers and seals while you're in the there. Its a similar job to the 944. The 928 doesn't have balance shafts, there's more stuff in the way and the tensioner can be a pain to deal with. The belt tension is critical, make sure you get it right.
You'll love the torque in the manual 928, lots of fun. |
