Well, after a long winters nap / service I finally have my 924s ready for summer. Other than a few odd days shaking down problems, the car has been down since November of last year. I finally have the car running smooth and in my mind should be very reliable now for some time and all the maintenance is up to date.
We had all kinds of little issues each time we thought we had it fixed that kept the car down longer than I had hoped. Now I plan on a trouble free summer of fun driving my car.

Here is a list of everything that's been done,
New water pump
New timing belt
New balance shaft belt
New rollers and drives for the water pump, timing belt and tensioner
All new hoses under the hood with new clamps on each one
All new temp and fan sensors
New radiator
New alt and a/c belts
New ECU/DME unit
New DME relay
New plugs, wires, cap, rotor and coil
New reference sensor bracket
Strut brace
Sway bar brace set
New high torque gear reduction starter
Solid billet transmission mounts
15x7 Phone dials (were chrome, painted now)
General Altimax HP tires (205-60x15 front and 215-60x15 rear)
All fluids & filters changed
New exhaust from header back, generic Flowmaster and high flow cat
Taillight mod to use extra outlet for an added brake light
Im sure I left something off, but just about everything that could give me problems was replaced.

Thanks to Ian at 944online for helping with most of the parts needed and some good advice and Dan at Ideola's Garage as well.

Spendy! I'm facing the engine part of it in my '88 924S, but, the 1200 bucks for the FOES, seals, gaskets, engine mounts, ugh. Haven't pulled the trigger yet.

YES, very costly. I thought I was getting a good deal when I bought the car..... But the PO pulled one over on me. I fell for the line, "its only been 5k miles since the timing belt was changed, but I cant find the paperwork".. When we were taking the old belt off, it broke in half when pulling it off. With that in mind, I felt it was safer to change everything at once and have the car down for one long repair, than doing a water pump and a month later doing a radiator.

As far as the cost, check with Ian at 944online.com. He has great deals on complete packages. My hoses, water pump/timing belt, radiator and all related sensors, belts and bolts cost about $1200.00 shipped(+or - a few $$$ for optional parts and shipping). I called to order everything and Ian was very helpful at directing me to the right parts, some cheaper than what I planned on getting.
