I need to replace the battery tray (btw I need a new one). Could someone please post up some pics of what the battery tray should look like from the factory?
Also what the actual battery should look like as well. Ie is there a battery cover? Or tie down bracket? If you have any information at all around the battery please post it up! I am sure I will find it very useful, as I am nearing completion of my restoration. Thanks guys!! hope to see you at the Werks reunion in August! _________________ Love me some toofa' |

| There is a stock battery cover available at AutoAtlanta. They also have a battery mat to neutralize the acid. |

| Great vintage photos. Note that the molded painted tar paper in the tray was probably the biggest culprit for rust. It gets old and dry and water and acid gets trapped underneath. Porsche stopped using this on the trays of the 944 and 924s. I'm working on a repro battery tray. Won't have the first batch ready till fall. |

I think the battery cover was Europe only. _________________ 78 924 |

Although the classic pictures of the battery box are good. I was wondering if anyone has a clear, recent picture of the battery box. I had to add a blocker for my battery to keep it from moving around under braking. Otherwise it would not pass the track tech inspection. Is there a buldge or raised area close to the engine that keeps the battery from moving? It could also be a smaller sized battery that I am using that makes it slide around a bit.
Thanks for the input. _________________ Cheers;

Mine barely fits in that area, its not fixed to anything but it has a plastic cover over the + terminal. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Replacement battery calls for a group 41 which measures:
11.6 x 6.9 x 6.9 inches

In the second image entitled Battery-bolt down; engine toward right (above), the battery is affixed with the bolt-down bracket shown. On the other side, towards the passenger compartment a larger bolt-down bracket (approx. 3 1/2 in. wide with similar appearance) has two bolts, one is pointed to in the third image but is not too clear as labeled arrow A. Better, the both studs for this second bracket are shown in labeled arrows H in the second to last image, the front stud also labeled with the letter H. |

The dealer use to have them, not sure if they still do. They come dry. Automotion and others sell a similar battery, I don't think they have the logos though. |
