Gentleman..to all fans of the 924 Carrera GT. I know many of you know that for the last 18 months I have been working towards completeing a book about the Carrera GT cars. Not only the GTs, but the development, the "secret, or not so secret" Record car. The UK races The early showroom stock and SCCA Prod D races, The development and races of the GTP cars, of course a chapter completely about the GT and GTS. The years 81 and 82 racing. Then the USA and all the race teams and IMSA + TransAm from 1983 to 1988. Finishing with a chapter about the legacy, 944, 968 etc. 90,000 + words, 400 images. The project is totally funded by me, no budget for images, all have been contributed for the passion of the subject, by some wonderfull people, from Porsche themselves to dozens of private individuals in the USA and Europe and Australia. Forewards are by Norbert Singer,Jurgen Barth,Derek Bell. With Introductions about their time with the cars, from Tony Dron, Paul Miller, LeeWhite,Doc Bundy,Hurley Haywood,Tom Winters,Tom Seabolt. The book will be published in November by Veloce in the UK who will look after the printing, publishing and sales. It will be my sixth book, all written with a passion for the subject, yes I like Alpine Renaults too. You can check me out by going to the Veloce books web sites and putting in my name. All have been privately funded, (I sold two Alpines to do it), three books to date have won awards. My hope is that you the fans will enjoy and find my humble efforts, and see many new images as well as some recognisable ones that could not be left out. I rarely get to look at the pages here on the forum, but if you need to contact me, do so through Alpeene@aol.com I do go on that account quite often. No more to say, except thank you to those who have helped so far. Look out for the publication in November. All the best Roy Smith....Author of The Porsche 924 Carrera

Roy,
eagerly looking forward to it and thanks for taking the time to tell the story of a car so often overshadowed by the 911.

best regards,
Paul
