Thought I'd post on some work from the weekend.

Picked up an Audi 5000 throttle body for $25 Canadian. Using the existing mounts on the Audi piece, I was able to install both TPS sensors from my 1980 924. I only had to drill one new hole, in order to properly mount the closed throttle sensor. When mounting on the intake plenum, I had to cut down the mounting bracket for the open throttle sensor as it interfered with fit, but after this everything went together well. I took the mounting loop for the throttle cable off my old 924 throttle body and installed it on the top of the Audi throttle body. Cable connected up fine, open and closed postions are good.

As for performance gains, I'm sure there is no HP gain, it has been proven again and again that the restriction in the 924 is in the head. However, the bigger throttle body, combined with a cut open air box and cat delete certainly has made the engine sound better, especially at wide open throttle. Engine does seem to rev more freely. Hopefully this bigger throttle body will be of some use next year when my big valve head goes in with the euro spec pistons in the block.

I still have a Weber Redline big bore throttle body which I was never able to figure out how to mount the TPS sensors on. If anyone wants it I've posted it on EBay (item number 7990746065):

It makes your air filter real dirty real fast!

Oh and yes it does make the engine a bit louder.

Yes, it does make the engine louder. Other than that I'm sure it does nothing else, but I have 2 air box covers, one with snorkel and one I cut open, so I can alternate if I really want to.
