Hello, hello, and hello. I go by the moniker "CelestialGryphon" For a reason - You see, My heraldry and past comes from Saab and Subaru, where I've done a little dirtiness with the offroad group affectionately known as "Dirty Impreza." Very creative as far as names go. I've had a history of strange project cars from RX7's that never ran to a 928 that needed more work and money than I had time to put into. My first loves will always be trolls, from Trollhatten, however something very german recently wriggled its way into my heart. I was perusing ebay for comedic opportunities and stumbled upon this, a 1987 924S in need of some love. I'll go into that later, but first, pictures! I take pride in my cars - from my '92 Saab 9000 with 13 owners that was faster than the devil running from a choir and my '05 Arc with its simplistic styling and understated straight line speed. (May I state I absolutely HATE the new photobucket, by the way...)

The Swedes -

Das Deutschlander!

Fich Ja Deutschland!

So, history on the car and the plan of action.

Cost - $1200. Mileage? Unknown. Odo stopped at 77k, we assume around 100k. Owners? 3. Myself being the third. Issues? A few. A couple things - I'm more of an auto-body guy, my best friend is also my mechanic who keeps my cars running strong.

1. Bent frame. The previous owner "Ditched'' The car, quite literally and abandoned it at a local shop where they did some minor repairs and have had it for the last few years. Is the frame fixable? Yes, very much so. I will however need some new control arms and front suspension stuff, as the front left wheel is pushed back about an inch. Driveable? For sure. I picked up the car in Eerie, CO, drove it to Colorado Springs and started some of the work to be done on it.

2. Some tuneup - What's left on the list is a timing belt and pulleys along with a cap and rotor (On that note, do I have to be super specific and use Bosch stuff? I'm guessing the answer is yes. Don't castrate me for asking!)
Drivers side wheel is missing a stud, so I need that too, along with new brake shields on the front. Here poses a question as well
"The front wheels have spacers on them. Why? It seems like these wheels would clear just fine." Oh, it needs tires too. Fluids have been flushed and changed, fresh oil, Power steering seems to have a slight leak but I have a feeling that's just a common issue. Seems not to be leaking too terribly much I keep an eye on things.

3. Cosmetic Issues - I'm doing the best I can to save the paint, but it will need a respray of clear at a minimum at some point in time, although I may consider on the next wash to do a Resin-Glaze recoat and see if I can salvage the clearcoat that way. Might work. Might just work.

What do I want out of this car? Reliable Summer Sports Car.

In sum -

1. Fix Frame
2. Finish Tune Up (Possibly AC delete with timing belt - Anyone have a link to that and or what timing belt kit I need? I know I still have reading to do but I figure it can't hurt to ask!)
3. New suspension parts - springs, shocks, tires, ect.
4. Brakes refresh.
5. Cat Delete into a Magnaflow (Lord knows how clogged that one is, and right now this car sounds like a rice rocket, urgh!)
6. Drive it like you stole it.

She runs strong and free and just needs a bit of love. Thanks to resources and friends, all in all she should cost me a total of $2200 give or take. Not bad for a car that starts and runs every time! I live in Denver, Glendale, CO - So If you're around this area you'll see me using her as a grocery getter for the time being when I don't feel like lumbering into the 9-3. (Oh,I may have for shits and giggles put a K&N Panel in there, but I washed ALL of the oil out first.)

Hello everyone, again, I'm glad to be here and I DO have those two big pages bookmarked to read when I'm at work next!

Nice to meet you all! Any helpful information would be nice, local enthusiasts even better~!
