This is the stuff that's advertised on TV to seal leaky gutters and things of that sort. It's rubber in a spray can.

I'm not one to look for a quick fix, but if it works as advertised then it sounds perfect for this job

that would probably work. Depends on the extent of your damage, small holes below the battery area, or the inner fender wall is rotted.

I used spray rubber on top of the aluminum plate I riveted in. it worked well, and it's still sealed after e years.

I'm pretty sure the stuff they advertise on TV is regular spray rubber, but it carries a hefty price tag.

I had a small crack in the original metal that leaked severely. I used Rust-Oleum Leak Seal on it and its been fine for almost a year now.

I attempted this repair today using rustoleum leak seal. I don't think it will hold up, at least not the way I did it! I found out the hole was quite a bit larger than I thought so I grabbed a slice of gasket material, covered the hole and blasted leak seal all over the place. It was the best solution I had on hand.

Soon I will have to just cut it all out and weld a new tray in place

I use seam sealer, comes in a tub and paint on with a brush.
Thicker than my wife's gravy or wheel bearing grease.
