I've noticed my 924 doesn't like to sit in traffic or typical 35+ adelaide days as the temp gauge rises on its way to the red. I am intending on putting the thermo fan that was connected the to a/s system that I stripped but have a few newbie questions:

1. Do i need to have a relay set up? do they draw that much current
2. If there any where I can fit it to a thermo swtich? that is conseridering they have one in stock version
3. Or should I just wire it straight to an on/off switch on the dash

Cheers in anticipation

Cheers
Scott

Both 924's that I have purchased have come with thermo fans? Regardless, your AC fan should help. You can buy a kit from repco that has a sensor that gets slipped into the top radiator hose where it joins the radiator. This comes with a little box and an adjustment for the fan on and off. From memory they are about $70??

Otherwise I think the radiator should have a place for a fan switch, just get a 90 - 95 odd degree one and wire it through a relay

Guys, I had my 924 for five years and admit I'm a slow learner.
I notice the car is getting hooter this year.
I had the sensor in the radiator replaced a few years ago and they put one in from a higher ranger,
I have flushed the radiator and installed a lower temp thermostat.
Also am ramming the car with the ac on on hot days to keep the fans running all of the time.
I'm thin kings of getting the radiator recored as the recent collant change produced some rusty metal in the fluid. I'm hoping the recore and the low temp sensor will resolve the issues.

Cheers lefty

If you dierct wire the fan in, use a relay. I used a kit from Jegs http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/10559/10002/-1?parentProductId=758607

to wire my stock fans and bypass the thermo switch due to woring problems. I use an on/off switch on the console.
