So I have been looking into some fuel supply issues. Since installing my new fuse box/relay panel I replaced the relays and fuses as they were without checking with the shop manuals. Anyways today I started systematically double checking that everything is kosher and whamo it turns out that two of the relays are the wrong part numbers. Changed em. Then I look at the engine fan relay. Its wrong too but something else catches my eye. Even with the proper 4 prong fan relay there are still WAY too many wires going into the back of the holder. Like, I mean twice as many sockets on the back as there are prongs on the relay. Wtf? My car came with a factory alarm which I have nixed but this shouldn't have anything to do with the fans anyway. The shop manuals only list 4 wires going to the back..
Ideas anyone ? _________________ 1979 Euro 931, Olive

Some things share the same fuse...and maybe also the same relay.
If you have the wrong part number relays that means somebody replaced them or you're looking at the wrong documentation.(maybe for a different production year?) _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Im a bit confused still. When I replaced the fuse panel with a new one I just put everything back in it's place. Turns out though that the PO had put a standard relay into the Cooling Fan receptacle. Bad move. That holder needs a special relay with 6 prongs to run the A/C fan up frontas well as the main engine rad fan. This was waaaay wrong. Kinda surprised the car even ran and didn't start on fire. The weird thing is that the factory manual and Haynes only show that socket having a 4 prong relay. Huh. So the car runs and revs so freaking much better. Monday we are going around the block a few times. WOOT. _________________ 1979 Euro 931, Olive
