How do you relocate/lower the alternator after A/C removal on a 931?
I believe I’ve seen it here before, did a quick search but couldn’t find anything.

He cut the A/C bracket to clean up the engine bay.
I thought about doing this, but would much prefer relocate the alternator where the A/C pump was if it’s possible. _________________ 1976 924 N/A ROW SOLD

Not entirely clear in this pic but I cut and lowered the mounting bracket for the alternator and now resides under the modified intake
Ignore the strut brace. It won't work with the intake/TB and bonnet clearance!! _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Tough to get detailed pics without tearing down, which isn't going to happen unless I break something in the near future. The existing bracket was cut and reangled to drop and lower the alternator, then welded and reinforced into the new orientation. A new mount was bolted on top of the alt mount to relocate the belt tension bar.
Best I can do on more pics

No, I had to trial and error a belt or two to get the right length. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife
