|
|
So on the weekend I replaced the master cylinder and the rear drums on the 924. I need to adjust the drums to get the best braking out of them. Do I need to jack up the car to do this? Yes it would be easier I am sure, but at my house I don't have a jack yet. .
Thanks. _________________ Cheers;

Best way to adjust toofah drums is to throw them over the fence into the neighbor's yard.
Yes, you need a jack (factory jack will do) and one jack stand. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Heh, mine went into the recycling bin for the weekly pickup
Made a lovely noise when they dropped into the truck. _________________ Stefan

Ok I get it. ditch the drums and go Four Wheel Disk. I would love to but can't afford it right now. LOL.
I will need to borrow a jack then.
And to top things off when I installed my last hood release, I wrecked it. So I need another one of those as well. On that front, can I use a replacement cable from a 944 84 and up? I see on Pelican and Auto Atlanta that it is 65.00 for the OEM Porsche release of 10 to 25 for a GEMO replacement. However Pelican doesn't list the GEMO for the early 924. I would think it would be the same thing. Wouldn't it?
Cheers folks. _________________ Cheers;

Find an early 944 or a 924S and strip it of the suspension.
Refresh the calipers, new pads, rotors and brake flex lines along with other wear parts and install them on your car.
There's more detail in one of the Performance Upgrades sticky's or in the How-To section. _________________ Stefan

Well I know of a 924 turbo for parts. Just no $$ in the kitty at the moment to take the plunge.
I am sure that I can and will upgrade in the future. That is the plan. Especially to keep this one on the track.  _________________ Cheers;
