| Anyone know what size the fuel line is off the fuel tank to that 90* fuel filter (sock)? Then also that short piece from that sock to the pump? I wanna remove that sock and see if it is clogged. If it is I want to be able to replace the fuel line and drop in a 90* connector till I get a replacement. |

Think I used 12mm on mine for both(1/2" would probably do) until I replaced the pump for a cheap alternative which required a reducer pipe. I'd like to know where you can get a replacement right angled filter, I thought they were NLA. I keep removing mine and blasting it clean in the hope the rubbish will eventually disappear!
Don't run without the filter, will wreck the pump! _________________ 1984 n/a Ruby Red Metallic

Pretty sure pelican parts hes then for $40 or so. Give them a call. But realistically,.. i've ran cars without fuel filters in the past. Given the likely hood of me owning this car for another 5 years is slim, so what do I care? I'm prolly just going to remove the thing till I get around to installing it back in. Besides,. the small amount of whatever will be collected in the fuel filter in the front, so the engine will still be protected. If I lived in the North east I may be concerned about rust clogging the pump, but this car has zero rust on it as it sit. |

Not so fast. I cavalierly removed the in-tank pump/filter sock, and proceeded to ruin two 20 dollar junkyard 944 pumps this past week. Today, I installed my last junkyard pump, however, I put in a clear filter upstream. Youza, there was gunk in the trunk, (which rhymes better than tank,) so, hope to keep this pump for awhile. A new one is on it's way as well. _________________ '83 944 Track car.
