I brought the car back from the garage this morning.
Was my longest drive since I got the car 3 years ago (45min)
Car ran strong without any overheating
The new clutch really makes the driving better although I still have grinding on 2nd gear change.
I was thinking recently of changing the Porsche for an rx-8 this summer.
Today's drive is making me wonder if I shouldn't give the 924 more driving time to get a better bound with it.
The rx-8 would allow me to bring the kids with me on drives and maybe cost a bit less in repairs as the 924 is not nearly as cheap as I thought to maintain at the level of perfection I want.
On the other hand the Porsche has this old rebuilt car aura with it and would allow me to drive on vintage lapping groups (more my type of contact then hype kids who drive modified rx- _________________ 1979 924 NA |

RX-8s are their own beasts with their own set of rules and generally speaking having dealt hands on with an RX-8 there are somethings that are cheaper to deal with but in the long run it will probably cost you more.
Rotaries burn oil, it's just the way they work because they don't separate combustion chamber and crank case. So you'll constantly be adding oil. Spark plugs are crazy expensive and there are four (no less than your 924) for the two rotor Renesis engine.
You could put the money that it would cost you to buy a solid RX-8 into your Porsche and make handle better than an RX-8. _________________ Melanie - 1980 931

Green tartan interior, you don't see that on a Civic. |
