|
|
So this morning I was arriving home from my daily morning swim, and as I braked before turning around in the cul due sac the engine died. I started it back up again, coasted in neutral to about 5kph and then slammed on the brakes, she died again. Took a little longer to start back up after that.
I have no idea what this could be. Not sure where to look first...
Any ideas? |

New development:
Tried to drive to school, she died when I took her out of gear at the bottom of the hill. Started back up after a couple tries and I managed to get her back up the hill to my house. Chokes under load, if I floor it she really chokes. Made it up the hill and went to turn around and she died again.... Couldn't get her started after that so I had to push her home (luckily only 50 feet away).
I'm pretty certain it's fuel related, I'll start at the tank and work my way along to the injectors. Anybody have any tips? |

First things to come to mind:
- Vacuum leaks
- Fuel filter _________________ - 1977 Porsche 924 2.0 N/A (Trackday Project)

I'd vote fuel pump or junk in your tank perhaps?
Check the ground connections in the trunk between the taillights and the power connections on the pump(s) _________________ Stefan

That's a good point, a pump running on half a leg won't put out much effort lol. _________________ - 1977 Porsche 924 2.0 N/A (Trackday Project)

Check main ground to battery. I would think that a ground issue would be worse when slamming on the brakes. _________________ Ian Edgerly

I'm embarassed...
I thought, "hmm, maybe my gas warning light broke and I ran out of gas"
So I got a jerry can and put $10 of gas in it.
She started ok, took a few tries, but once she warmed up she drove fine. I drove her hard, drove her at low rpms under high load. Slammed on the brakes.
She's fine for now, I'll do a longer drive later tonight if I have time.
Bottom line is, I think I just ran out of gas
Now on to checking the gas light... |
