That is where mine is in the "off" position all the way up. (1979 924).

Just seems odd that it would be there and not out of the way when off? Is something not put together correctly??

That doesn't sound right. On my '82, the "top most" (most anti-clockwise) position is full speed, followed by half-speed, then off, then intermittent.

I just checked it again a few minutes ago (to make sure I wasnt nuts), and yes - all speedz work, just in backwards order. As I recall, the plug is curved like the steering column on the switch end. Maybe it is reversed at its termination. Is that at a fuse block?

Uhhh. This dpes not look good. Checked the plug at the end of the column, that can only go one way.

Is there supposed to be white cloth tape on every wire bundle going to the ba k of the under dash fuse block? I fear (maybe I am being paranoid) that someone replaced the fuse block and spliced everything correctly...except that.

If so I guess it is not the end of the world. Would explain this, though.

Will dig further and report back.
